The Lone Star Racing Battery Box serves many purposes. The most important is that it offers more clearance from the caliper during suspension compression, stops the battery from breaking the stock rear fenders, and also allows you to remove the rear fenders without having to remove the battery. The battery box incorporates all mounting tabs for the stock electrical components.
